Thanks, but the hard reality is ''knowledge gained out of extensive studies of scriptures '' will not ''culminate in experience of the indwelling presence.....''

since '' the indwelling presence....'' is in the realm totally beyond the range of the intellect ,
all scriptures are the detailed expression of the one truth , ie summed up in the for maha vakyas
aham brahma asmi
thath thvam asi,
sarvam khalvidam brahma
ayam atma brahma

knowing all these and the extensive details about these , understanding and interpreting these will not provide that experience of ''brahma '' the supreme, it will give only may give detailed maps, but will not take to the destination, unless one undertakes the journey and persists till one reaches that state

so our wise spirituals have instituted the ''upanaana'' , manthropadesha, initiation in the process art of meditation , that too in the earliest part of life, that too thru a live guru parampara to enable one to reach that blessed state

thru this experience of '' being'' one becomes able to access the store house of the essence of all knowledge, and gain insights and come out in the form of cognitive expressions, ie scriptures
so scriptures is not the means, but it is the end products of realization
and the advice has been '' go forward not to get stuck in the jungle of scriptures , including vedas
one must be able to access and express the vedas that exist in one's inside, not from books and lectures and recitations
finally, simply, guru shows the way , but he shows only the way , shishya has to do the journey himself and find the ultimate for himself
