bhakthi is a result of forward journey resulting in the experience of

-- first ---the glory of paramathma, the ultimate and

---second---the realized one becomes a bhaktha

on his return journey to the relative world

his being enriched with the wealth of sath chith anand ,

and he starting to enjoy singing his glory in whatever he does in his life
bhakthi without the glimpse of paramathma will only result in bhaktha ever hoping to see god till end of life--in a mirage,

since such bhakthi keeps one within the range of mind at some subtle level, without leaving the aspirant to have a chance to go beyond the mind.

this needs to be understood. 
To experience first sathguru shows a simplest way to meditate and reach that state of ultimate , the pure consciousness nirgun, nirakar, para state, --absolute, infinite unbounded awareness.

and immediately the aspirant gets the total clarity of knowledge of entire range of lokas, including the devas, and becomes charged so to say with divine power and starts to visit all lokas as per his wish and making his life a life of bhaktha singing hymns in praise of god which ever he happens visit in his sojourn and acquires the mahima and grace of god as described in that gods sthothras ,namavali

every thing will become a matter of real experience without loss of time and he lives on earth in sathya loka of his own world even in kali

Thus a large no of such realized souls have the power to make the sat yug to descend in kali early rather than somewhere in future.

a common feature of all the bhakthas, eg narada , is that they definitely had a darshan of paramathma first and then they became unmaththas singing their glories life long
