truth=like in geometry, st line is really straight without deviation, , circle is really defect free circles, sphere is really spherical without depressions and elevations
similarly ,

when things are expressed in true way they are beautiful, sundaram, and they are good shivam

There are so many detailed principles, like symmetry, mirror symmetry, , two/three axis symmetry--this is on visual ,

similarly on sound, smell, taste, touch, --constituting whole beauty
god is the most beautiful, conforming super symmetry

See wiky pedia hoggards principles of beauty

beauty of sound is music, with thal etc

beauty of movement is dance,

gods are good at sangeeth---gayan vaadan, naachan

The greater the artist, great is his art,

effortlessly he expresses.

his expression conforms to brahma suthra effortless,
masterpieces are the result, of paint, sculpture, music, speech, poetry,

--all have basic principles underlying which make them good and appealing valuable

If artist does not have depth, without sadhana, his efforts are just useless,

may be he is most modern with best of medium and best material or best theme

My evaluation does not stop at physical level,

i look for the essence that conveys to me,
i look for the awakening it triggers in me ,
whether it leads me in to my own depth,
and get to the heart of the artist inside me.

this criteria is very high and very few stand my expectations

Six Principles--the principles of beauty
In The Analysis of Beauty Hogarth implements six principles, which independently affect beauty. Although he concurs that those principles have an effect, he is not determinate on their specific influence.
1 The first principle of beauty Hogarth describes isfitness, which is not in itself a source of beauty, but can be described as a material cause of it. Though the account of fitness on the total beauty of an object is only moderate, it is a necessary cause. Fitness does not necessarily imply purpose. However, improperly implied forms cannot be the source of beauty. It is in this that the necessity of fitness must be seen: if not accounted for, a form cannot readily be assumed beautiful.
2 The second major principle of beauty is variety. It is the source of beauty, which Hogarth shows us by the contrary notion of "sameness":
"sameness", a lack of variety, offends the senses. "The ear is as much offended with one even continued note, as the eye is with being fix'd to a point, at the the view of a dead wall."
In contrast, our senses find relief in discovering a certain amount of "sameness" within a varietal experience.
3 The third notion of regularity is understood as a form of "composed variety": it only pleases us when it is suggestive to fitness.
4 Similar to this notion in effect is simplicity, which enhances the pleasure of variety in that it pleases the eye. The variety which causes a beautiful experience should, so to speak, be tempered by simplicity. On the other hand: simplicity without variety at best does only not displease.
5 Intricacy is a strange principle in that it does not directly follow from the formal behaviour of a beautiful object. Hogarth means by this the habit which causes us end up in the whirling game of pursuit, when bit by bit discovering the beauty of an object. Intricacy arises from the love of this pursuit. Every difficulty in understanding or grasping the object enhances the pleasure of overcoming it, in order to continue the pursuit. There is a direct connection here to the Line of BeautyHogarth dictates, along which every image is built up. Though the movement of our eye is discrete in itself, the movement of our "Mind's eye" follows a duplicate course of the line, a principal ray of light moving along with the line of sight. The continuous movement of our "Mind's eye" triggers the notion of intricacy.
6 Quantity, finally, is associated with the notion of the sublime which, when Hogarth's book appeared, was not yet entirely distinguished from the apprehension of beauty. Hogarth thus does not speak of sublimity, but of greatness. He recognizes a great quan****y to have an aesthetic effect on the beholder without the necessity of a varietal or fitting form. This should not be exaggerated, as that might lead to absurdities.unquote

beauty

quote

I believe to be the basic five principles of holistic beauty.

First of all, know that you are so much more than what you see in the mirror. I am reminded of the lyrics to my favorite India Arie song. "I am not my hair, I am not this skin, I am not your expectations no, I am the soul that lives within." Your worth is far greater than any hairstyle or hair color. Beauty is in discovering the authenticity that lies beneath the surface.

Next, you have to accept and embrace your uniqueness. Variety is the spice of life. What a boring world it would be if we all looked alike. Learn to appreciate you. Study yourself. Really get to know the unique, beautiful being that you are. You have a purpose on the planet so unique that only you can fulfill it. Do you.

Pursue health. Your hair, skin, and nails are more than just superficial signs of beauty, they are direct reflection of your overall health. Beautiful, glowing, skin and hair are signs of a good digestion and metabolism and a healthy diet. Your skin reflects the quality of your blood. A healthy diet, one that is suitable for your blood type, is how you create that healthy outer glow. No matter what your blood type, a healthy diet will be one that is full of fresh and organic fruits and vegetables, healthy proteins and whole grains.

Be honest with your self and take inventory of your life and make the necessary changes that will bring you into sync and harmony with nature and those around you. The serenity prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr is a perfect meditation for this step; "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; and the courage to change the things that I can." Tension and stress wreak havoc on your inner health. It shows on your face. Nothing is worth disharmony and the disruption it causes to our inner psyche and physiology. You can heal your life, but you must first be honest about what it is. True, authentic beauty comes from a mind and heart that are in harmony. When you have inner harmony there is emotional confusion, lack of confidence, stress and worry disappear.

Last but not least, beauty is a choice. Make the choice each and every day to become healthier. Choose a healthy diet, friends, career, thoughts, and lifestyle. You have the power to transform yourself into the radiantly beautiful woman you are meant to be. Be good to yourself and expect the same from others. Look for beauty around and within you. It's there waiting for your beck and call. "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your Mind." Romans 12:2
