two opposing approaches-- -surrender and challenge ..ECIL experience 

we , new incumbents joined an upcoming psu, with all the freshness, and innocence in pursuit of a job to earn some living, it was in a remote jungle like area 

we all worked with fullest devotion, enthusiasm, with full obedience,in total surrender to the objectives of the organization ,without a care for benefits, gains there was no trade union, tu no officers association , oa 

organization grew , earned profits, esteem, ceo was pleased unasked he launched on welfare measures ---residential quarters , school, hospital, park, shopping center, training school, transport, roads , bank, loan for bikes and cars, and also informally set up a committee to build a cooperative housing society giving all support to acquire land and develop to own houses ,within no time we became prosperous unimaginably this went on for a few years 

times changed, greed set in, indiscipline increased , tu, oa were formed,

 there were disputes endless, resulting in losses , squeezing the resources, excess staff was sent out on voluntary retirements , business was lost, disgust , disappointment, frustration ruled roost, 

so

in surrender, there is empowerment,

in challenge , there came decay , degradation"
