Castes are as many as entities

Each  of a different caste

 

Caste is classification

Classification has criteria

 

Criteria are countless

So each entity has one  class / castes if criteria is one

Each entity has as many castes/classes as the number of criteria

 

At ultimate level

1         all entities are of one caste/ class if ultimate criteria of featureless pure existence is considered

 

2         each entity is of different class or/ caste if the criteria becomes so refined as to take every feature of entity is taken in to consideration. Since no feature is same in different entity

so

castes are 1  one

or

castes are countless , infinite

 

depending on the range of criteria,  the caste or class of entities varies between 1 and infinity

so existence of 10000 or more / or less castes /classes is just a normal feature , not of much significance
