Apauruṣeyattvam of the Vedas | Philosophy Blog on Speakingtree.in
Pranam. and thank you for enlightening . Before this I was in confusion that when we say Vedas are Apauresheya, it means they can not be attributed to one person. |
Let me make it more clear. It is not that it cannot be attributed, it 'is not' attributed to human minds(s). The 10,552 hymns (Suktas) in the Rgveda were seen/envisioned by around 400 Rshis (out of whom 27 were female Rshikas). But they have not taken the credit. They said 'we were instruments/medium' in bringing them down. So the Rshis are known as 'Mantra-drashtarah' (Seers) and not 'Mantra-kartarah' (Composers). The Mantras were not crafted. Is it a little more clearer now? |
Yes. Thanks , This is exactly what I was hoping u would write and was waiting for it. Yes the rishis/rishikas were so pure and surrendered to Ishwara that they admitted that someone in their thoughts/dreams/minds spoke to them, revealed certain things to them. Absolutely no credit for themselves shows how untouched they were by arrogance and today everyone rushes to take credit for even anything that is copy paste, PHds are being done like this, paintings are being drawn like this, that is why pride enters the heart. Rishis were like flute which is hollow yet sweet. |
1. No, being a Rshi or Rshika has nothing to do with purity. Kindly, may no one imagine things and attribute things. Things were not, and may not be as one want them to be. In such cases, “being objective” helps – “This is how it was”. 2. Rgveda does not talk abt “Isvara”, so surrendering does not arise. I cannot explain further. You imagine a lot. Every work has to be credited. Because we did not take care to document, all our history has become Mythology. The Rshis were not untouched. And today if everybody rushing to take credit is a justifiable thing, both correct/right, and legal. First you get a Ph.D. then you may comment. Even copy-pasting is not easy. One must know from where to copy, and paste where. And they must gel. Are you an artist? Have you done Water Colour and Oil Paintings. “Rishis were like flute which is hollow yet sweet”. This is called ‘āropitam’ super-imposition. |
''Thanks for correction. so Rishis shld be termed more as researchers who worked with focus -------------------------- pranams to swaminiji, and seemaji, this conversation makes me to venture to give an explanation, hope i am permitted ''Rshi or Rshika level are the manifestation of purity attained , the aim of all the spirituality is to raise ourselves to the highest / ultimate purity/ pavithratha/cleanliness ''sa baahya abhyanthara shuchih '' and to become one with the purest supreme soul , brahman , jeevi is born in the state of agnana, due to the accumulated impurities sanskars, from past till moment due to the inputs from outside and impressions of experiences underwent .....which all become the thick shield of ignorance blocking / blurring the vision and making it unable to see truth ..comprehensively and clearly ...that results one to lead a life full of mistakes, and hence suffering hence sages did tapasya and burnt the impurities,..''daghda karmaani ''.....and raised their purity level, as much as they could it is the level of purity that decides the degree of truth one can access, and as sadhana continues and intensified, this level of purity of body mind nervous system rises....''thrikarana shudhi'' rises and the sage starts getting more and better glimpse of the inner wealth, and also in the ability to articulate/ express the various dimensions of truth precisely, beautifully, but with spontaneous flawlessness with the ease of an expert and these expressions will be universal and useful for ever guiding the humanity, they are the veda or vedic truths and each sage sees different aspects of truth, that is how a number of vedas came out , thus total knowledge can be seen in the totality of all vedas if vedas are universal truths, and available in one's deep inside, one must be able to access them , and live a life blissfully knowledgeably, but we do not see that in our contemporary life main reason is that we lack sadhana to raise the purity level day by day that is why the relevance and need of the great efforts of modern vedic experts like swaminiji to bring out the vastness and greatness of vedic knowledge to inspire the aspirants by providing a birds eye view of the wealth , and to realize the glorious possibilities from that knowledge for one's life and that of society around |
