An ancient prayer by an unknown Vaishnava author


nava-nirada-nindita-kanti-dharam

rasa-sagara-nagara-bhupa-varam

shubha-vankima-caru-shikhanda-shikham

bhaja krishna-nidhim vraja-raja-sutam (1)


Just worship Shri Krishna, the son of the king of Vraja, who is a treasure-house of priceless

jewels! His complexion is more effulgent than a fresh raincloud; He is the king of

paramours and the ocean of rasa; His crown is adorned with a lovely peacock feather

auspiciously tilted to the left (bowing towards Shri Radha’s feet).


bhru-vishankita-vankima-shakra-dhanum

mukha-candra-vinindita-koti-vidhum

mridu-manda-suhasya-subhashya-yutam

Vrajavasis; He is adorned with extraordinary eyes like blue lotus blossoms.

kati-veshtita-pita-patam sudhatam

earrings dangle from His ears; His waist is adorned with meticulously

dhvaja-vajra-jhashankita-pada-yugam

ornaments; His spirited behavior mocks the intoxication of honey bees; His soles are
