Nariistanabhara naabhiideshaMdRishhTvaa maagaamohaavesham.etanmaaMsaavasaadi vikaaraMmanasi vichintaya vaaraM vaaram. .. (3)

Do not get drowned in delusion by going wild with passions and lust by seeing a woman's navel and chest.

These are nothing but a modification of flesh.

Do not fail to remember this again and again in your mind

.

naliniidalagata jalamatitaralaMtadvajjiivitamatishayachapalam .viddhi vyaadhyabhimaanagrastaMlokaM shokahataM cha samastam .. (4)

The life of a man is as uncertain as rain drops trembling on a lotus leaf. Know that the whole world remains a prey to disease, ego and grief.

yaavadvittopaarjana saktaHstaavannija parivaaro raktaH .pashchaajjiivati jarjara dehevaartaaM ko.api na pRichchhati gehe .. (5)

So long as a man is fit and able to support his family, see the affection all those around him show. But no one at home cares to even have a word with him when his body totters due to old age.

yaavatpavano nivasati dehetaavatpRichchhati kushalaM gehe .gatavati vaayau dehaapaayebhaaryaa bibhyati tasminkaaye .. (6)

When one is alive, his family members enquire kindly about his welfare. But when the soul departs from the body, even his wife runs away in fear of the corpse.

baalastaavatkriiDaasaktaHtaruNastaavattaruNiisaktaH .vRiddhastaavachchintaasaktaHpare brahmaNi ko.api na saktaH .. (7)

The childhood is lost by attachment to playfulness. Youth is lost by attachment to woman. Old age passes away by thinking over many past things. But there is hardly anyone who wants to be lost in parabrahmam.

Who is your wife ? Who is your son ? Strange is this samsara.

Of whom are you ? From where have you come ?

Brother, ponder over these truths here."

This is the pot, no, this is only mud,

This is the earth, no , it is only atom,

This is the smoke, no, it is only fire,

This is the cloth, no , it is only the thread,

Can all this debate ever cure the cruel God of death?

Vainly you give pain to your throat,

By these torrent of words,

Instead worship the lotus like feet of Shambu,

Oh , intelligent one, and attain supreme happiness."

9Searches and hunts the dim witted one,In the deep dark lake,In the lonely dangerous forest,  And in the broad high mountains For a flower to worship thee.It is a wonder,That these people do not know,To offer to you the single lotus,From the lake of one’s own mind, And be happy at one’s own place

Oh God who is the consort of Uma,"

 adi deva namasthubhyam

Ahilandakoti brahmandanayaka has sent one surya as his rep for bhoomi to give light, life.

he is koti surya prabhatejam, means at least koti suryas do exist if not more

the seer sees much more in the phenomena , the sun is.

he sees sun as the paramathma dispelling the darkness,

more than, a fire of certain temp ,with so much calorific value

with light of so many candle power, or just an input for chlorofill ,or germcide and with certain

radius volume , life, with vibgyor colors unified

it evokes awe respect, fear in the theif, hope, happiness, as mithra,

i adore our tradition of deifying this phenomena, in much more fitting manner it deserves

it directly is god visible

sun is indirectly also a supreme god invisible residing and illuminating our outside and inside lives

nice we have this ratha sapthami

let's all be blessed by sun in and out, for this shining blog to day

     na guror adhikaṃ tattvaṃ

na guror adhikaṃ tapaḥ

tattva jñānāt paraṃ nāsti

tasmai śrī gurave namaḥ

There is no higher truth than the Guru,

no higher penance than (service to) the Guru,

there is nothing higher than Realization of the Knowledge of the truth imparted by the Guru.

My salutations to such a Gurudev, who is himself that very timeless truth (and who has taken up a form to bless his disciples like us with real knowledge).

-----------------------------

this sthothra, is a flow of heart ,

the shishya,  having had the glimpse of all-fulfilling absolute within ,

ie, his internal guru having been lit

----as a result of practicing the instruction taught by his guru,----

----and  having accessed the source of every thing worthwhile, within, ---

has become  immersed in the ecstasy,  is now seeing the  transcendental reality of his external guru

as nothing but the same as the internal guru, the gyan jyothi

and singing the glory of both together , the plane of reference becoming transparent, non existent

Tattvam, tat tvam , that you

ie, the essence, what that exists basically, fundamentally, and really,

ie truth of existence of you / truth of existence of individual ,

or simply the truth

when shishya experiences this truth, and since he could experience only with the help of guru , and comes to know that himself, and external guru are nothing but truth , he simply utters what he felt

that is guru himself is the truth

hence there is no greater thing as guru

so no greater thing than guru guidance

so na guror adhikam tattvam

applicable for external guru and internal guru both , they both merged, merged with his own self in essence, the truth

hence

My salutations to such a Guru, who is himself that very timeless truth (and who has taken up a form to bless his disciples like us with real knowledge.

Devotee goes from form to formless,

from visible to invisible,

from relative to absolute,

from earthly to heavenly

from apara to para

we see this transparent walk in the devotional songs of saints ,

and---- the reader too ----experiences such ecstasy

in reading/ listening such expressions from great souls

but be master of our own maathru bhaasha, sanskrit,

mother of all languges and see what great things it can accomplish to the world civilization thru its perfect script and pronunciation, richness of vocabulary, and precision in expression ,the great value of vibrations in vedik recitation etc

First, Second, etc. | Learn Sanskrit Online

First, Second, etc. | Learn Sanskrit Online

First, Second, etc.

Now that you're familiar with Sanskrit numbers, we can study words like "first" and "second." These words are derived from the numbers we just saw, and they are used as adjectives.

First to Tenth

प्रथम
mf(ā)n
first
द्वितीय
mf(ā)n
second
तृतीय
mf(ā)n
third
चतुर्थ
mf(ī)n
fourth
पञ्चम
mf(ī)n
fifth
षष्ठ
mf(ī)n
sixth
सप्तथ
mf(ī)n
seventh
अष्टम
mf(ī)n
eighth
सवम
mf(ī)n
ninth
दशम
mf(ī)n
tenth
As mentioned above, these numbers are used as adjectives. These words are often used to number the chapters of a work:
  • अथ प्रथमो ऽध्यायः । अर्जुनविषादयोगः
    atha prathamo 'dhyāyaḥ । arjuna-viṣāda-yogaḥ
Now starts the first chapter : the yoga of Arjuna's despair
In English, the words from "fourth" onward mostly use "-th", but the words from "first" to "third" do not. In the same way, the words from "fourth" onward use ī for the feminine, but the words from "first" to "third" do not. This correspondence is a coincidence, but it's a useful way to remember which consonants use ī in the feminine.

11th to 19th

The number remains the same. It is inflected like a noun ending in -a. The feminine uses ī.
  • अथ षोडशो ऽध्यायः । दैवासुरसम्पद्विभागयोगः
    atha ṣoḍaśo 'dhyāyaḥ । daiva-asura-sampad-vibhāga-yogaḥ
Now starts the sixteenth chapter : the yoga of the division between divine and demonic fates

20th to 99th

The number either has tama added to the end of it or is "contracted" to a shorter form.
  • द्वाविंशतितम
    dvāviṃśatitama
    twenty-second
  • एकविंश, चतुस्त्रिंश, नवचत्वारिंश, अष्टापञ्चाश, द्वाषष्ट, सप्तसप्तत, पञ्चाशीत, षड्णवत
ekaviṃśa, catustriṃśa, navacatvāriṃśa, aṣṭāpañcāśa, dvāṣaṣṭa, saptasaptata, pañcāśīta, ṣaḍṇavata
    twenty-first, thirty-fourth, forty-ninth, fifty-eighth, sixty-second, seventy-seventh, eighty-fifth, ninety-sixth

100th onward

The number either has tama added to the end of it or remains the same.
