veda=knowledge
vedik life=life how a knowledgeable lives
basis for veda is akshara,
if basis is missed, veda is missed, so is vedik life, leading to all kinds of myths, mithya vaada, conjectures,[ not real knowledge,] in flowery expressions giving impression to be truth, and leading one to wrong/funny understanding of life.

from when?
it happens every now and then  happening ever since sathyayuga ended. happening even now

''brahma sathyam jagath mithya'' a sanyasi was teaching.
the king said''excellent, take this gift, but stay not in this kingdom by next sun rise. go to neighbour kingdom and teach it nicely''

.
thru this teaching people  totally rejected their life, became weak and dull, not even taking food , since it is mythya.
it was easy for the king to invade and conquer, even army not resisting, saturated with this theory.

but  brahma sathyam jagath mithya is a vedik truth, was there  is  will be

what is wrong is the understanding of it.

misunderstanding it , without the essential light of experiencing brahma, the absolute, transcendent, paramaathma.

hence the emphasis on the experience along with knowledge

since   ''it happens every now and then  happening ever since sathyayuga ended. happening even now''  need to  update ourselves with ever renewing cosmic play of purush and prakrithi ---by being with it, or by being it , to be more precise,  -- in thrikala sandhya vandan, at least , morning and evening.

it is maharishi who set it right by saying '' these are two realities, 1  never changing  2  ever changing'' clarifying that mithya is not untruth, but truth , a reality of momentary existence

it makes a gulf of difference between  understanding mithya  rightly and wrongly --having tremendous bearing on practical life --a noble and glorious possibilities on one side and a wretched nonsensical existence on the other side.
