a prayer of one is a prayer of all too, 
it is valid for all the victims , who died, who are living dead, not only of rape, murder, but cheating, exploitation, deprivation, hunger, disease, threat, horror , misery of every sort perpetrated mainly by man to man helplessly, uncontrollably driven by/ inebriated with the 6 tendencies ie, kaama, krodha, lobha, moha, mada, maathsarya, [ lust, anger, greed, attraction, egotism, jealousy, ] 
all sympathy, empathy, protest, righteous indignation is justified demands for reforms , and quick, harsh punishment to the criminals also are well articulated, and are timely and appreciable
but but but
unless the 6 tendencies as above are subdued , no transformation can ever happen, what ever may be the actions from public or society
the only solution is individually each one has to turn his attention within , with all the means and guidance one can access, which in turn keeps these tendencies subdued and oriented for higher purpose in life
or else, history repeats with vengeance,
it is up to each individual to seriously view this and act on it

or be only a helpless witness, if not a victim himself,
or even a perpetrator himself doing sins of one type or other, major or minor
we must go forward with solutions to the world, not seeking any thing from out side but bringing out from within"
